[Circle Rick Stilwell on G+ - signup for tonight's May SMCCSC Meeting - more links to come]
**Update – not happening, can’t get the On Air piece across Wi-Fi – but if you’ve got me circled, we’re on for the Hangout. **
I’m a big proponent of testing – not to a fault (I hope) where you never move forward, never pull the trigger on firing off the cool new thing. But limited testing to get a better feel for something, that’s a huge positive for me. Here at Rick:Caffeinated, we want to try something new – slow, limited rollout, but big in potential for whatever might come next.
At tonight’s Social Media Club Columbia meeting, we’ll be round table discussing business/non-profit strategies with social/online tools. If you’re planning on attending, please signup at EventBrite or on the SMCCSC Facebook page so we know you’re coming.
Here’s the beta test part – if you ARE COMING and can BRING YOUR LAPTOP or other smartphone/device; or if you ARE NOT COMING but want to join in through your PC/Mac/device – then please circle me on Google+ so you an Hangout with us online.
The meeting is from 6:30p-8:30p at the main branch of the Richland County Public Library, in the BOA Conference Room on the main floor. I’ll plan on being online (wifi permitting!) by 6:15, and the hangout invite will go out. Message me if you don’t see it – but if you’re in the room with a laptop/camera or at home with a webcam, we can fill up the 10 slots and let everyone participate ON AIR. That’s the part I want to demo/beta/play with – On Air Hangouts that go to everyone via YouTube and that can then be saved for archive/blog purposes.
Let’s see what happens. Let me know if you have any questions – and leave a comment here if I need to look for your connection this evening.

Sorry I missed it! Will hangout another time. BTW your site looks fine on the tiny pop-out panel in the IPad Twitter app.
Thanks, Susanna – the wifi just wouldn’t let me On Air, and then it kept bugging on the hangout altogether. Oh well – that’s why they call it “testing”. Thanks for the info on the iPad viewing, too – was it the rad version that you see of this site on a desktop, or was it the plain mobile version? I’m good with either, just glad it looked good.
